Summary
Defining the design process
Scalable system for precise delivery
Keeping in line with stakeholder requirements, the design system was built to be adaptable and scalable. All components were designed in light & dark mode, and Figma allowed us to toggle between the two modes, which enabled efficient delivery of comps and precise hand-off to engineering.
Aligning in-vehicle UX with brand identity
A core part of my process was aligning the new in-vehicle experience with TiVo’s suite of digital products. I translated existing design patterns and brand pillars into the automotive context, preserving the identity users expect while optimizing the interface for the unique requirements of the vehicle experience.

Optional customization for automotive partners
To support a diverse range of automotive partners, I developed design standards to balance TiVo’s functionality with partner-specific branding. I was responsible for delivering detailed documentation that guides automakers through styling the experience to feel like an integrated feature of their own brand.
Testing & VQA system
My team and I had bi-monthly sync-ups at the automaker's site, where we met with senior project managers and other stakeholders. During these sync-ups, we would sit in the vehicles to test the implemented screens and capture screenshots that were then compared to our polished screen comps. I took the lead in setting up a system to communicate issues to engineering by annotating screenshots and submitting stories.
